Renault immobiliser systems — what you need to know
Technical notes on Renault key programming
- UCH (Unité Centrale Habitacle): central body computer that controls the immobiliser on most Renaults from 2000 onwards.
- Hands-free RFID card: uses an RFID antenna in the dashboard slot. Each new card must be paired with the UCH and the on-board PIN code.
- PIN code: every Renault has a 4-digit security PIN. DKP can extract it from the immobiliser or from the original purchase documentation.
- Megane IV / Talisman cards: new generation with improved encryption — requires the latest CLIP / Can Clip equivalent equipment.
- Zoe and electric range: uses BlueCard architecture — DKP carries the dedicated programming kit.
- Stolen key deactivation: on most models, DKP can erase stolen keys from the UCH memory, leaving only the new ones active.
