Renault immobiliser systems — what you need to know
Technical notes on Renault key programming
- UCH (Unité Centrale Habitacle): central body computer that controls the immobiliser on most Renaults from 2000 onwards.
- Hands-free RFID card: uses an RFID antenna in the dashboard slot. Each new card must be paired with the UCH and the on-board PIN code.
- PIN code: every Renault has a 4-digit security PIN. DKP can extract it from the immobiliser or from the original purchase documentation.
- Megane IV / Talisman cards: new generation with improved encryption — requires the latest CLIP / Can Clip equivalent equipment.
- Zoe and electric range: uses BlueCard architecture — DKP carries the dedicated programming kit.
- Stolen key deactivation: on most models, DKP can erase stolen keys from the UCH memory, leaving only the new ones active.

How long does a Renault key replacement take?
A Renault key duplication takes 30 to 90 minutes for traditional remote keys. The hands-free RFID card (Megane, Laguna, Espace, Scenic) takes 60 to 90 minutes, including pairing with the immobiliser and full vehicle test.
Can DKP duplicate a Renault hands-free card?
Yes. The Renault hands-free card (introduced on Laguna II and used on Megane II, Espace IV, Scenic II/III, Vel Satis, Latitude) is a DKP speciality. We programme replacement cards on-site, including total card loss situations.
How much does a new Renault key cost?
A spare Renault key with remote (Clio, Captur, Kadjar) costs €179-€279 via DKP. A hands-free RFID card costs €249-€389 depending on the model. All prices include the mobile call-out and programming.
How do I get the price and how do I pay?
The quote is free by phone or WhatsApp. Your final price is confirmed as soon as you send your vehicle registration document (or, at minimum, the licence plate number and the full intervention address). You then pay online or directly on site, after the intervention, by card or bank transfer, with no hidden fees.
Does DKP work on Renault Zoe and Austral electric models?
